Timeline

By using the telecommunication licenses and NOC infrastructure inherent in the acquisition of BCSnet in 2008, BCSgroup has concluded a series of transactions over the past two years that has laid the foundation for the formation of the BCSgroup structure as it is today. Salient dates in the history of the Group are:


Jul-08	BCSgroup acquires BCSnet and BCSworx. Further capital is injected over the next twelve months to strengthen the existing infrastructure, and build a management and executive team capable of positioning the company for growth.
Oct-08	BCSnet enters the retail vertical by designing and rolling out the first multi-branch VPN/fail-over communication solution for the JD Group.
Jan-09	BCSnet becomes one of the first licensed I-ECS and I-ECNS operators in South Africa through BCSnet and BCSconnect, giving it the capability of building and owning its own national telecommunication network.
Mar-09	BCSworx secures only the 2nd Alcatel-Lucent Premier Partner status in South Africa, and positions the group for access to world-class carrier grade technology at exceptional discounts to market prices.
Apr-09	BCSgroup secures access to the telecommunications concession license for the Porto Techobanine project in Mozambique, a multi-billion dollar telecommunication infrastructure project providing end-to-end digital port and smart-housing capabilities.
Jul-09	BCSgroup is selected by Ericsson South Africa as its preferred operating partner in providing telecommunication services to the City of Joburg's Broadband Network - South Africa's first digital city project.
Aug-09	BCSgroup introduces a BEE partner into BCSgroup.
Sep-09	At 09h09, on 09/09/09, BCSconnect becomes only the second telecommunications operator to go live with wholesale international access through SEACOM.
Jul-10	BCSgroup secures full redundancy on its international access through its strategic partnership with Africa-Inx. SEACOM undergoes a cable outage, BCSnet and its clients are unaffected.
Aug-10	BCSworx invests over R10m in securing carrier-grade infrastructure from Alcatel-Lucent, giving it world-class voice and network switching capabilities.
Mar-11	BCSgroup secures a strategic voice partner to complement its existing data and infrastructure capabilities.
