Remote Peering

Peering is a voluntary inter-connection of separate Internet networks for the purpose of exchanging traffic between the customers of each network. The pure definition of peering is settlement-free or "sender keeps all," meaning that neither party pays the other for the exchanged traffic; instead, each derives revenue from its own customers. Peering requires physical inter-connection of the networks, an exchange of routing information through the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) routing protocol and is often accompanied by peering agreements of varying formality, from "handshake" to thick contracts.

Ethernet Cloud

BCS support and provide multi point access mediums to enable connectivity to its carrier grade cloud. Point to Point Ethernet (Fiber) Point-to-Point Ethernet provides fast Ethernet service, which is the ideal high bandwidth and cost-effective point-to-point networking solution. Customers get secure Ethernet connectivity through optical fibre networks to ensure optimal service quality and redundancy. The guaranteed data transfer rate ranges from 1Mbps to 10Gbps and supports a wide range of interface and segmentation options to ensure a perfect match with all customer business needs. A typical Metro Ethernet network is a collection of Layer 2 or/and Layer 3 switches or/and routers connected through optical fiber. The topology could be a ring, hub-and-spoke (star), or full or partial mesh. The network will also have a hierarchy: core, distribution (aggregation) and access. The core in most cases is an existing IP/MPLS backbone, but may migrate to newer forms of Ethernet Transport in the form of 10Gb speeds.

BCS Last Mile

BCS Last Mile

Fibre, Wireless, Copper

Mile or "last mile" is the final leg of delivering or enabling connectivity from BCS to a customer. To solve the problem of providing enhanced services over the last mile, BCS adopted a strategy of mixing network topologies and provide Last Mile access through the following mediums: Fiber Wireless Copper (Diginet) VSAT In order to create a client Point to cloud connection to the closest fiber node a “Last Mile” connection is required, this entails a fiber conduit to be trenched and installed underground, after which fibre optic strands are “blown” through the conduit and spliced on the client end to create the termination point. At this stage network infrastructure are installed to enable dataflow, or otherwise known as “lighting” the fibre.
